In September 2026 Amazon opened its first fulfillment center in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). Located in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), the facility has a storage capacity of 8 million products and enables same-day delivery to customers across the UAE.
Nearly half of the facility is dedicated to local sellers using Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), giving thousands of entrepreneurs and small-to-medium businesses the tools to store, pack, and ship products to millions of customers.
Setting new standards for online retail
"This new fulfillment center represents a step forward in our long-term commitment to Abu Dhabi and the UAE," said Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President, Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Turkey. "By combining technology with our customer-obsessed approach, we are expanding our operational footprint in Abu Dhabi while setting new standards for online retail."
The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers products across more than 30 categories including home, kitchen, groceries, health, beauty, and electronics.
Driving Abu Dhabi's digital economy
"The launch of Amazon's first fulfillment center in Abu Dhabi marks a significant milestone in our strategic partnership," said His Excellency Badr Al-Olama, Director General, ADIO. "We are not only creating opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship, but also further establishing Abu Dhabi as a hub for advanced logistics and digital commerce."
Al-Olama added that the investment aligns with Abu Dhabi's economic diversification goals, creating opportunities across the digital economy and empowering local businesses to grow and compete.
Innovation from the inside
The facility houses an Innovation Lab that has achieved a 93% success rate across more than 500 tests and reduced process lead times by 59%. The lab is equipped with package testing equipment, 3D printing systems, and ergonomic assessment tools. The center also uses analytics-driven sustainability practices to reduce consumption across its operations.
